Making It Happen

What should I aim for?

  • Have your first alcoholic drink after having eaten
  • Quench your thirst with non-alcoholic drinks before alcohol
  • Avoid salty snacks when drinking alcohol
  • Switch to beer/lager with a lower alcohol content (% ABV)
  • Take smaller sips
  • Plan new activities and tasks at those times you usually drink
  • When bored or stressed have a workout instead of drinking
  • Explore alternative interests – cinema, exercise, etc.
  • Avoid going to the pub after work (or go out later)
  • Avoid or limit the time spent with 'heavy' drinking friends
  • Any other ideas of your own?
  • Alternate between non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks
