A 12 week programme offering information and support to individuals wishing to make sustainable, lifestyle changes, and increase their physical activity.
This programme is not a quick fix diet but will equip the client with the tools to make significant lifestyle changes that will improve their health, increase physical activity and promote weight loss.
Programme includes:
- Educational information around, diet and nutrition, food labelling, portion sizes, stress management, healthy heart, etc.
- Exercise and relaxation session
What the programme involves:
- Short induction before first session which will involve:
- Brief outline of programme
- Weight measurements
- Step test
- Blood pressure
- Pulse
- Perceived Rate of Exertion (Borg) Scale
- Educational information
Approximately 30-45 minute informal sessions on: - The heart and cardiovascular disease
- Risk factors
- Healthy Eating
- Exercise and your heart
- Stress
- Exercise
- Warm up
- Circuit exercise
- Cool down
- Moderate to higher intensity
- Relaxation
Range of relaxation techniques taught and practiced including: - Tense and release
- Muscle relaxation
- Imagery
- Breathing techniques
- Goal setting and Food Diary
- Weekly weight measurement
